This latest leg of the deployment has me in Italy, Fantastic Italy. I have been through Naples and Rome and have taken several hundred photographs. I fully expect to double that number in the next few days. Pompeii will be my destination tomorrow. I am incredibly happy to have been afforded this opportunity. Upon this deployment I have been doing research into my schooling and career path for when I am out of the Navy. A Bachelors in instrument repair and certifications in lutherie (guitar building to be specific). This deployment has also been extended twice, allowing me to do more research and realizing the best possible paths for me. I have applied to one of the nation's most highly regarded luthier school and have been warmly approved. Only 20 of the 2,000 applicants were chosen for the year I applied for. Over the past several months, I have traveled around the world and have been afforded the opportunity to see some beautiful things. I have been putting my camera to good use and have captured some amazing shots. I have countless shots from Busan, South Korea and Phuket, Thailand. I still have several more major stops before this deployment comes to a halt and I expect to have plenty of amazing shots still to come.
